on Long Islandand we will settle for nothing less.
As a graduate of Polytechnic Institute of New York as a Civil
Engineer, Sail Van Nostrand has been a leader in the construction
and project management field for over twenty five years. From
high rise office buildings to local Libraries, Sail is recognized
for his attention to detail, and his personal commitment
to his clients.
Owing to his interests in the environment
and renewable energy, Mr. Van Nostrand has kept a watchful
eye on the industry and in 1996 bought his first truly renewable
energy system when purchasing a home with a 4.5 ton Geo-thermal
heat pump system. Subsequently, he added an additional 3.5
ton system to complete the transformation of his home to
an environmentally sensitive residence.
In October of 2001
Mr. Van Nostrand elected to embark on a multi year process
with the intention of becoming a renewable energy contractor
based in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Resigning from his
position as Managing Director and founder of a 20 person
project management consulting firm, Mr. Van Nostrand sought
out opportunities for training in the field of solar electric
systems. Foregoing 25 years of “suit and tie” experience, Mr. Van
Nostrand embarked on a hand’s on approach for his new
business. From training to design and installation Mr. Van
Nostrand has been hands on and makes a personal commitment
to each and every one of his customers.
Along the way, Mr.
Van Nostrand has also enjoyed serving the Syracuse Industrial
Development Authority as Construction Consultant in their
negotiations with Destiny USA, the developers of the Carousel
Mall which used Green Bonds for financing.
Currently Mr.
Van Nostrand serves as Vice Chairman of LISEIA (Long Island
Solar Industries Association), a task force of NYSEIA, as
well as serving on the Board of Directors of NYSEIA, (New
York Solar Energy Industries Association).
